First Bus is going green with the launch of two all-electric fleets in York and Norwich, UK. This initiative is being backed by Department for Transport (DfT) approved Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) projects that are being co-funded by First Bus and the UK Government. First Group plc At York and Bramley depots in West Yorkshire, a total of 117 electric buses are being funded and launched, while Hoeford depot in Hampshire is taking things one step further with a full 62 electric bus fleet across all its commercial routes. First Bus will also continue to work with Leicester City Council on the ZEBRA project at the depot in the city with the pioneering deployment of 68 vehicles. At the conclusion of the ZEBRA projects, First Bus will have over 600 zero emission buses in their fleet.
