AI Powered Timetables Promise a Smoother Ride for Greater Glasgow

Punctuality on Glasgow’s buses has improved by 8.5 per cent since First Bus started handing the timetable over to artificial intelligence. That figure covers more than 60 routes tweaked using AI-powered scheduling software, which analyses live traffic data and historical patterns to build timetables that reflect how the city actually moves — or crawls — during the day. It is an approach that appears to be working, and First is betting on it again.

What’s New?

Let’s talk features. These buses are kitted out with:

  • Bright, modern interiors
  • Handy USB charging ports at every seat (bye-bye dead phone anxiety!)
  • Audio and visual next-stop announcements for smoother journeys

Plus, they come equipped with the latest Euro VI engines to cut emissions, meaning a breath of fresher air for the local community. Stagecoach is clearly putting its foot down (gently) on the sustainability pedal.

A Big Day for the Aldershot Team

To mark this milestone, the Aldershot depot team, led by Operations Manager Aaron Hodgkiss, hosted a celebratory event. Hodgkiss summed it up perfectly:

“These new buses demonstrate Stagecoach’s commitment to improving services for the Aldershot community. We’re proud to introduce these upgraded vehicles and are confident that they will benefit our passengers and enhance their travel experience.”
