The Route 400 bus, better known as the Coastal Breezer, operates between Seacombe Ferry Terminal and New Brighton, offering visitors a fresh, fun and affordable way to enjoy the Merseyside coastline.

Building on the success of previous years, the service resumed daily on Saturday 19th July, and it will run until Sunday 31st August 2025, including the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Designed to make summer travel easy and enjoyable, the bus timetable has been carefully aligned with Mersey Ferry sailings, enabling seamless connections for passengers arriving at Seacombe.

Stagecoach is also continuing its partnership with Merseytravel, meaning that Mersey Ferry ticket holders and visitors to Eureka! Science + Discovery Centre can travel on the Coastal Breezer free of charge.

Regular fares remain low, with an adult single fare priced at just £1, and a family ticket available for only £5 (valid for up to two adults and three children), making the Breezer one of the region’s best-value summer travel options.

Matt Davies, Managing Director for Stagecoach Merseyside and Cheshire said:
“We’re proud to bring back the Coastal Breezer for another summer, it’s a great way to support our local communities and tourism economy while giving families a fun and memorable travel experience to New Brighton.”
Cllr Steve Foulkes, Chair of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee, added:
“The Coastal Breezer is a fantastic addition to our integrated public transport network and a brilliant way to see the stunning views of the River Mersey and Bay of Liverpool.

"With its connection to the Mersey Ferries and a free travel offer for passengers, it’s never been easier or more affordable to explore everything our coastline has to offer.”
The open-top bus will operate when weather allows, offering passengers sweeping views of the Wirral waterfront as they travel toward one of the North West’s most loved seaside spots.
